About PDFCheck

Our Mission

PDFCheck was created with a simple mission: provide a free, private, and accurate way to analyze PDF metadata without compromising user privacy. In an age where digital documents are everywhere, understanding the metadata embedded in PDFs is crucial for verification, forensics, and document management.

We believe everyone should have access to professional-grade PDF tools with clear information about temporary storage, saved results, and any external processing before they submit a sensitive document.

What We Analyze

  • Creation & Modification Dates: When the document was created and last modified
  • Author & Creator Information: Who created the document and what software was used
  • Edit History: Timeline of document modifications
  • Application Information: Software and libraries used to create the PDF
  • Document Structure: Page count, text content detection, and more

Privacy First

File handling depends on the workflow. The core checker does not keep the original upload after the request; editors and converters use automatically cleaned temporary storage, while AI Chat and tracking features intentionally keep private files until deletion.

βœ“ No registration required
βœ“ Core checker uploads are not retained after the request
βœ“ Temporary tool files have scheduled automatic cleanup
βœ“ Stored and external AI/OCR workflows are disclosed in the Privacy Policy

Technology

PDFCheck transmits data to and from the production website over HTTPS and uses local PDF libraries on its server for core tools. When you choose AI Chat, scanned-document OCR, or configured virus scanning, selected excerpts, page images, file hashes, or files can be sent to the providers identified in our Privacy Policy.
