What the setup covers
Everything needed for a working first version
-
Installed on your server
We install PDFCheck on one Linux server or cloud virtual machine that you provide, and list the exact requirements in your quote.
-
Your brand
Your product name, logo and colours, served from your own domain or subdomain.
-
The tools your team needs
Choose from the PDFCheck tools below. Anything you leave out stays hidden.
-
Your rules
Staff sign-in with email and password, public sign-up turned off, upload size limits, and how long files and results are kept.
-
Outside services off
AI chat, AI-based text recognition and VirusTotal lookups stay disabled unless you ask for them and supply your own accounts.
-
Handover
An admin guide covering updates, backups and restarts, and a launch checklist for the person who will own the tool.
Tools that run entirely on your server
These use open-source components such as Ghostscript and Poppler. Documents are processed on your machine and nowhere else.

A good fit if
- Your staff handle client, HR, finance or legal PDFs that must not be uploaded to public websites
- You want one approved tool instead of whatever each person finds online
- You have, or can get, a Linux server or cloud account to run it on
Probably not a fit if
- You need single sign-on or system integrations on day one
- You only check the occasional file. The public site is enough for that.

Questions
Do our files leave our network?
Not with the tools in the standard setup. They run on your server. AI chat and AI-based text recognition would send content to an AI provider, so they stay off unless you enable them with your own account.
What server do we need?
A Linux server or cloud virtual machine that your team manages. The exact requirements depend on the tools you choose, and we list them in the quote.
Can you host it for us?
Say so in the brief. We can quote a dedicated server that we manage for you, billed separately from the setup.
What does the $49 monthly plan cover?
We apply PDFCheck updates and security patches to your installation, make small wording or settings changes, and answer questions by email on business days. New tools and integrations are quoted separately.
What if we stop the monthly plan?
Your installation keeps working. You stop receiving updates from us, and your team becomes responsible for patching the server.
Is this the same as the desktop app?
No. The desktop app, which is still in development, sends files to pdfcheck.online. PDFCheck Private runs on your own infrastructure.
